In Loving Memory of Carolyn Jean (Stanfield) Foglesong “Carol”
Life & Legacy
Carolyn Jean (Stanfield) Foglesong, known lovingly to many as Carol, passed away on October 11, 2026, in Bradenton, Florida, at the age of 82. She was born on January 8, 1944, in Blytheville, Arkansas.
She was raised in Kentucky where she graduated from high school in Madisonville. Shortly thereafter she moved to St. Louis where she married her first husband and raised three sons.
She and Richard enjoyed Life at Lake St. Louis and were Snowbirds on Anna Maria Island, Florida until 2015 when they moved full time to Harbour Isle to enjoy retirement.
Carol was a devoted partner to her husband, Richard Foglesong, and together they built not only a life, but a successful construction business. She played an important role in helping Richard create that success, and anyone who knew her would not be surprised.
Her interests reflected the way she lived, with enthusiasm and good humor. Carol loved Making a house a home, which suited her perfectly because she had the instincts of a designer and the confidence of a woman who knew what she liked. If a space needed charm, she had it covered. If it needed personality, she had that too.
She also loved entertaining friends and family, and she did it with flair. Carol knew how to make people feel welcome, fed, and thoroughly entertained. A gathering at Carol’s place was never just a gathering. It was an event, celebrating St. Patrick's Day, Superbowl, New Year's Eve and any other excuse to throw a party, there was always good food and drinks, plenty of laughter, and at least one moment where somebody said, “Well, that sounds exactly like Carol.”
She also loved soaking up the sun on the beach or poolside with friends and family. Carol appreciated the simple pleasures in life, especially if they involved sunshine and good company.
Surviving Family
Carol leaves behind her husband, Richard Foglesong; her sons, Fred Westerman, Jacob Westerman, and Philip Westerman; her stepdaughters, Diane Foglesong and Katherine Foglesong; her five younger sisters; seven grandsons; one granddaughter; two great-grandsons; and a wide circle of extended family and friends who will carry her memory with love and gratitude.
Carol’s life was full of character, a splash of color, and a lot more fun. If heaven has a beach, a pool, and a well-decorated house, Carol has probably already improved all three.
