Edward Dean Bowlin

Edward Dean Bowlin, age 68, of Monett, Missouri, formerly of Tampa, Florida, went home to be with our Lord peacefully on July 27, 2026. Edward was born in Anderson, Indiana, to Lee Riley Bowlin and Martha Yuledine Barnes Bowlin Haines Walters, both of whom preceded him in death. In January 1992, he married Melody Whitmer Bowlin of Monett, Missouri, who lovingly survives him. Eddie was the proud father of four children. Melissa Dawn Bowlin Taylor (Larry Johnson) and Dylan Maxwell Dean Bowlin (Yaki) survive him, while Jason Dean Bowlin and Mark Edward Bowlin preceded him in death. He was also one of five siblings; his brothers Tony, Clifford, and Roger preceded him, while his sister Lorene Meighen (Douglas Meighen) survives.

Eddie adored his two grandsons, Boaz Dean and Emmitt Dean Bowlin, who brought immense joy and light into his life. He is survived by nieces and nephews Brandon Bowlin, Nicole Meighen, Emily Bowlin, and Brian of Florida. His nephew Michael Meighen preceded him in death.

Eddie was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. His quick wit and his gift for making people laugh—even with his famously dry sense of humor—are remembered fondly by all who knew him. He had a way of brightening the room and bringing comfort through laughter.

In accordance with his wishes, Eddie will be cremated. No services have been scheduled at this time. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Gentiva Hospice and the staff at Aspire Senior Living for their exceptional care and compassion during Eddie’s final months. Their kindness made a meaningful difference in his comfort and peace.
