James Schaffer

Jim Schaffer, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away at his home on September 14, 2026. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Patricia and Clarence Schaffer, and his brother, Tom Schaffer (survived by Debbie and son Joe). Jim leaves behind his loving wife, Maureen; his stepchildren, Kelly Amadei (and grandson Henry Amadei), Kristin Gruidl, and Matthew Gruidl (wife Whitney and granddaughter Berklee); his sister, MaryEllen Klein; and his brother, Michael Schaffer. Throughout his life and during the difficult weeks preceding his death, Jim’s friends stood steadfastly by him, offering support, joy, trust, and a lifetime of shared experiences. Together with his wife, Maureen, they provided Jim with comforting companionship and a gentle goodbye. Jim was a friend to everyone, always willing to lend a helping hand without expectation. He touched many lives in simple ways—always steady and finding joy in the everyday. May your pockets be forever deep and your amazement of the world around you never end, in honor of him.
