Obituary
John Claude Lovett III, age 48, transitioned on Sunday, January 03, 2021. He was born on March 14, 1972 , in Angeles, Philippines to John Claude Lovett Jr. & Mary Lovett. John was a proud graduate of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and the University of Cincinnati.
At the time of his death, John worked as a school resource officer at Sutton Middle School via Atlanta Public Schools and he formerly served for many years as a police sergeant and investigator for DeKalb County, Georgia Police Department's East Precinct. John was a former president of the Stone Mountain Toastmasters and enjoyed writing poetry.
He is survived by his devoted wife Nick Mecala Lovett, his two step children Necole Christian Osborne (William), Joseph Roberson III, his two step-grandchildren Liam and Zora Osborne, his father, and four siblings (Marilyn, Miriam, Juanetta, and Malcom) and their respective spouses.
Per his wishes, John was cremated and interred at his marital home where a memorial garden structure was constructed and erected by some of his law enforcement peers.
