Mary Estelle Dittler (Bettes)
April 19, 1952 - September 23, 2026Obituary
Mary Estelle Dittler (Bettes) age 74, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Sept 23, 2026, at The Landings of Kaukauna
Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Rose; her sisters, Jeanie, Shirley, Catherine and Patty, and past partners, Charles and Kurt.
She is survived by her loving children, her son Barry (his wife, Jordan) and her daughter, Michelle; her siblings, Josephine and Francis; 3 grandchildren, Erika, Kate & Tyler; 1 great-grandchild, Nova . She also leaves behind many dear friends, and all whose lives she touched.
Mary had a special way of finding joy in the world around her. She loved nature and birds, and years ago, even the neighborhood cats and squirrels knew exactly where to go when they were hungry—Mary always had something waiting for them. She was drawn to anything bright, shiny, and sparkly, which somehow suited her perfectly. Music brought her joy, and she greeted people with a smile that could make them feel instantly welcome.
One of Mary’s greatest joys was being a Grammy. She treasured her grandchildren and the time she spent with them, creating memories they will carry with them always. She had a heart of gold and a generous spirit—she would give you the shirt off her back or the very last of whatever she had without a second thought.
Mary was also wonderfully and unapologetically herself. She was feisty, spunky, strong-willed, and never left you wondering what she thought! That spark was part of what made her so unforgettable. She loved deeply, gave generously, laughed freely, and lived life in her own unique way.
She was an amazing mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, and the love she gave to those around her will continue to shine through everyone whose life she touched. She will be loved, remembered, and missed more than words can say.
Mary’s family extends their deepest gratitude to the devoted staff and hospice nurses at The Landings of Kaukauna. Your gentle hands, compassionate hearts, and unwavering kindness brought Mary comfort, dignity, and peace in her final days—a gift that will forever be remembered with profound appreciation.
We invite everyone who knew and loved Mary to share a favorite memory, a story, or a moment that still brings a smile. Mary would want us to celebrate the laughter, joy, and good times we shared with her—to remember not only how deeply she was loved, but the beautiful, one-of-a-kind person she was. May the memories we share keep her spirit shining brightly in our hearts for years to come.
