Pamela Thing

Pamela Jean Thing (nee Marshall) of Linden, TN passed away on September 27th, 2026 in Jackson, TN at the age of 73. Pamela was preceded by her parents James Herbert Marshall & Arbell Buchanan, her brothers Herbert Leon Marshall & Darrial Wayne Marshall of Linden, TN, and her sister Cora Ann Jacobs of Pekin, IL. She is survived by her husband of 46 years Wayne Thing, her brother Addie Ray Marshall of Delevan, IL & her sister Sandra Sue White of Pekin, IL, her daughter Kathryn Marlaine Thing of Memphis, TN, and numerous nieces & nephews who she loved dearly.

Pamela had an extensive career in Television and audio/media, working in Peoria, IL, Toledo, OH and Spring Hill, TN. She loved to travel, especially to beach resorts, and recently she visited Alaska twice. She married Wayne Thing in 1980 in Goodfield, IL and they enjoyed 46 years of marriage. In 1994, she had their only child, Kathryn Marlaine in St. Petersburg, FL.

In Lieu of Flowers, Pamela requested for donations to be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or The American Cancer Society.

Pamela requested that there be no services. Her family plans to host a celebration of life in the coming months.
