Sandra Cox (Raymond), age 83, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2024, in Eureka, MO. Born on December 19, 1940, in New Orleans, Sandra dedicated her life to education and community service.

Sandra's career spanned several decades during which she influenced countless young minds as a teacher and principal at various schools including St. Francis Cabrini Elementary, Sacred Heart School, St. Ann School, Epiphany School, Livaudais Jr. H.S., and Metairie Grammar School. Her exemplary service was recognized with Teacher of the Year awards at both Livaudais and Metairie Grammar Schools. Sandra was also a proud member of Delta Epsilon Sigma, Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Delta Kappa, and both the Jefferson and Louisiana American Federation of Teachers.

She held a Bachelor's degree in English from St. Mary's Dominican College and a Master's in Education from the University of New Orleans. Beyond her professional life, Sandra was deeply involved in the 'Books for Soldiers' program, a cause she passionately shared with her late husband, Bernie Cox. Her hobbies also included candle-making and collecting ceramic figurines.

Sandra was a beacon of happiness and generosity, always considerate of others and deeply devoted to her husband, Bernie. She enjoyed the views of City Park and cherished the time spent with her family and friends.

Sandra is survived by her brother Gary M. Raymond, sister Elaine Brickman, Sandra's step children, Renee Kern, Greg and Armand Cox and their families, sister in-law Brooke Jutner with husband Adrian, and her god son, Sean Raymond, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, many friends and all those whose lives she made an impact on. She was preceded in death by her husband, Armand Bernard "Bernie" Cox, her parents George Louis Raymond and Marie Yelva Raymond, and her brothers Ronald 'Ronnie' and David Lester Raymond.

A private ceremony will be held in September in Biloxi, MS. Sandra's kindness and dedication will be remembered by all who knew her, leaving a lasting legacy in the hearts of many.
