Obituary

Wynona ‘Noni’ Wright (Campbell) peacefully passed on Dec. 12th, 2023 in Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, FL at the age of 65. She was born May 1st, 1958 to Everett and Wilma (Hamby) Campbell in Springfield, MO. She grew up in Tarkio, MO where she attended grade school. After graduating high school in 1976 she moved back to Springfield, MO to attend cosmetology school. During her time there she attended the church she grew up in as a baby and there met the love of her life James Wright. They were married on June 25th, 1977 in Tarkio, MO. After their marriage they welcomed their first child Blythe Wright on April 23rd, 1987. Nine years later they welcomed their second child Michaela Wright on February 20th, 1996.

Wynona spent several years as a licensed cosmetologist until she unfortunately had to give it up due to back issues. In the meantime she ran a daycare service out of her home and also worked for a short period at the Assembly of God headquarters. After moving to Kansas she took care of a deaf child for 10 years where she learned ASL and sparked her interest in helping special needs children.

After moving back to Missouri in 1997 after the birth of her second child she pursued a career in special education working at the Stockton school district for 15 years with all ages. She then worked at the Branson school district for another 3 years.

In her free time she loved weaving baskets on deer antlers, making crafts of all sorts, enjoying time with family and spending time outside.

She’s survived by her two daughters Blythe and Michaela Wright, her brothers Scotty (Donna) Campbell and Steve (Kelly) Scott, her sister Diane Kelce, her mother Barbara Campbell, her sister-in-law Mary Wright, her granddaughters Zoey and Rylie Paxton as well as a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
